Stephen Alemais (BT '14) is widely considered one of the best SS in the country and he racked up the preseason accolades.

American Athletic Conference

Stephen Alemais (BT '14)- Tulane University

  • Preseason All-Conference Team by Perfect Game USA
  • #1 prospect in AAC 2016 class by Perfect Game USA
  • #36 ranked Junior in NCAA by Perfect Game USA
  • #3 prospect in AAC 2016 class by Baseball America
  • Best Athlete in AAC by Baseball America
  • Best Baserunner in AAC by Baseball America
  • Best Defensive Shortstop in AAC by Baseball America
  • Best Infield Arm in AAC by Baseball America
  • Ranked #2 Short Stop in NCAA by D1 Baseball
  • Preseason Conference Player of the Year by Baseball America

"The junior shortstop is among the top prospects and best athletes in the conference. A solid defender, Alemais also has a solid feel for hitting (.312/.361/.392) and can impact a game with his baserunning—he had 27 stolen bases in 37 attempts last year. He’s a leader on a dangerous Tulane squad.”- Baseball America

“The Green Wave will be led by a strong pitching staff and defense up the middle of the field, as shortstop Stephen Alemais and catcher Jake Rogers provide leadership on both sides of the ball. Alemais is the highest ranked draft prospect on the team, with solid tools across the board including strong defense with very good range, a line drive drive that has a little bit of pop and game-changing speed. He led the team a year ago with a .312 average and 27 stolen bases and will hit third in the Tulane batting order.”- Perfect Game

Grant Brown (BT '14)- Tulane University

  • #20 prospect in AAC 2016 class by Baseball America

Pheonix Sanders (BT '16)- University of South Florida

“Sanders... enjoyed success at the junior college level, posting sub-3.00 ERAs, Sanders in particular exhibits very good command and the staff’s best breaking pitch,”

Atlantic 10 Conference

Logan Farrar (BT '13-15)- Virginia Commonwealth Univeristy

  • #1 ranked prospect in A10 2016 class by Perfect Game USA
  • #2 ranked prospect in A10 2016 class by Baseball America

“A player that’ll be on base and come around frequently to score for the Rams will be quick-twitch outfielder Logan Farrar who excites on both sides of the ball. A righthanded hitter, Farrar shows good bat-to-ball skills and finished last spring with a .307 average and led the team both in doubles (13) and triples (3) while showing some over-the-fence power of his own adding three home runs. Farrar’s eight stolen bases were also second best on the team”-Perfect Game

Brandon Gum (BT '12,15)- George Mason University

“George Mason welcomes back senior shortstop Brandon Gum for a fourth season on campus and will once again be a cog on both sides of the ball for the Patriots. A righthanded hitter, Gum hit .338 last spring over 48 starts up the middle while showing an exceptional feel for the barrel and comfort hitting to all fields. The offense is noteworthy but so is his defensive acumen, an asset that plays very well showing smooth and athletic actions ranging to either side.”- Perfect Game

Michael Smith (BT '16)- George Mason University

“Lefthanded hitting Michael Smith also returns with a .315 average that he put up as a true freshman last spring. He showed a steady feel for the barrel and an all-fields approach which helped him rack up 57 base hits”-Perfect Game

Tyler Tobin (BT 15-16)- George Mason University

“Tyler Tobin shows the biggest arm strength on the team and has been up to 92 mph with developing secondaries and an aggressive approach, something that will suit him well serving as the team’s closer.”-Perfect Game

Atlantic Sun Conference

Logan Gilbert (BT '16)- Stetson

  • #3 prospect in Atlantic Sun 2018 class by Perfect Game USA

“One freshman arm who will need to monitored closely is long and lean 6-foot-5 righthander Logan Gilbert whose fastball was reportedly up to 96 mph in the fall with a swing-and-miss type slider.”- Perfect Game

Big East Conference

Harrison Crawford (BT '15)- Creighton University

“Harrison Crawford was an on-base machine last spring finishing with a .440 on-base percentage but he did with more than taking his fair share of walks. Hitting just shy of .300, Crawford was tied for the team lead in triples (5) and also brought a strength component with three home runs to the Bluejays’ lineup”-Perfect Game

Conference USA

Brandon Rhodes (BT '14) - Florida Atlantic University

“Of the three weekend arms from last year's team just Brandon Rhodes returns to the same role. Rhodes found success through 2015 and finished the year with a 3.78 ERA over 14 starts and brings back with him the most innings with 78 2/3.” Perfect Game

Mountain West

Andrew Brown (BT '14)- San Diego State University

“Junior Andrew Brown, who hit 17 doubles in 2015, will move to second base and he should be the most offensive second baseman in the league.”- Perfect Game

Western Athletic Conference

Chris Lewis (BT '14,15)- Sacramento State University

“Senior Chris Lewis enters year four of a very decorated career, having been named WAC Freshman of the Year in 2013 and then WAC Tournament MVP in 2014.”- Pefect Game

West Coast Conference

Drew Strotman (BT '15-16)- St. Mary's College (CA)

  • #10 prospect in WCC 2017 class by Perfect Game USA

Zach Kirtley (BT '15)- St. Mary's College (CA)

“Sophomore Zach Kirtley is a banger at second base and he is one of the best pure hitters in the league.
”-Perfect Game
