For the Big Train, Alec Burleson (East Carolina) and Carson Taylor (VA Tech) lead the league in RBIs, with 30 and 21, respectively, and Burleson leads in home runs (8). But while Bethesda has the batting stats to power its offense—with seven players hitting over .300—one of the strong parts of the team is those players who can deliver in key moments.

One of these players is Jacob Southern (Jacksonville). The catcher and occasional designated hitter got off to big start, with a grand slam on June 20 against the Baltimore Redbirds, in a game that was in a rain-delay until June 26, a single that drove in the only run of the game on June 30 against the Redbirds and a two-run home run agaisnt the Rockville Express in game one of the July 1 doubleheader.

Carlos Lomeli (St. Mary's (CA)) is likely to start game one for the Big Train, with Carter Bach (Wake Forest)  pitching in game two. Lomeli enters the matchup with a league-leading three wins and a 0.57 ERA in 15 2/3 innings pitched. The righty has given up only one earned run on ten hits and three walks, striking out 17. Bach enters with a 5.40 ERA in 10 innings pitched, with six earned runs allowed on seven hits five walks and 16 strikeouts.

The Baltimore Dodgers have not announced their starters at this time.

The Dodgers have five players batting over .300, but among those five only three have home runs, one apiece. Four players have 10 or more RBIs, while only one has more than 20 hits as we hit the halfway mark of the season. If the Big Train want to succeed, Lomeli and Bach need to make sure they shut down any potential Baltimore offense.

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. for game one and 7 p.m. for game two.
