![]() Kobe Kato (Arizona) rips a hard swing during the last meet-up of the Big Train and Grays. The last time the Big Train were in action their five game win-streak came crashing to an end. Not all was bad, though, because Bethesda still left that double-header with the Alexandria Aces with a hold on first place. This time, the Big Train will be defending their place atop the leaderboards on enemy turf when they take on the D.C. Grays. Key players to watch for the Big Train in this double-header include Kobe Kato (Arizona), Jacob Southern (Jacksonville), and Chase Lee (Alabama). Kato has started the season scorching, possessing a blazing .552 batting average thus far, which needless to say leads the league. We will see how long he can keep up his tremendous pace. Southern, on the other hand, was bumped off of first place in the league in home runs during the double-header as the Aces' Scotty Morgan surpassed him. He will look to reclaim his position at the top against the Grays--if he can get ahold of a pitch in the zone. And in a double-header scenario in Summer ball, many pitchers are expected to be used--Chase Lee perhaps being at the top of that pack. Lee has looked brilliant thus far in relief, leading the CRCBL with 19 strikeouts and posting a 1.64 ERA. If Lee subs into the game, strikeouts should be in the forecast. \ For the Grays, this double-header is an important opportunity to jump ahead in the standings. With the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts surging ahead, riding a four game win-streak, the Grays have slipped to third. With two wins in this double-header, they'd soar to first. The Big Train, of course, will seek to prevent that. If Bethesda can score a pair of victories, they'll add cushioning to their league-leading seven wins. The games are set to get underway at 4:30 p.m. Get on over to D.C. to watch these two teams square off in some hotly contested baseball. |
