Big Train’s projected starter, John Murphy (University of Maryland), has started two games so far for Bethesda this summer. He holds a 2.25 ERA. In 12 innings pitched, he has struck out nine and walked three. Last time out, Murphy took a hard-luck loss, pitching six innings, striking out three, and allowing no earned runs.

In Monday’s victory over the Gaithersburg Giants, Allen Smoot (University of San Francisco) and Austin Hale (Stetson University) each hit a home run, and Clayton Daniel (Jacksonville State University) stole two bases. Look for Big Train to continue to utilize power and speed against the T-bolts.

First pitch is set for 7 PM at Blair Stadium in Silver Spring.
