Bethesda starting pitcher Ron Lowe (St. Leo's) led the Big Train over the Rockville Express 3-0 on a sunny and breezy Sunday afternoon at Knights Field at Montgomery College/Rockville. The lefty allowed only two singles and no walks in 7 innings while striking out five. Dan Bajger (Columbia) pitched a scoreless eighth, and Wyatt Stewart (Richmond) picked up his second save in as many days with a scoreless ninth.

Leadoff batter Jonnie Knoble (San Francisco) scored the only run Lowe & Company needed in the top of the first. Knoble walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error by the catcher, and scored on a groundout RBI by Ken Beamer (Findlay). Knoble led off the sixth scorching a liner down the left field line for a double. Knoble moved to third on an intended sacrifice bunt by Beamer that was mishandled by the Express pitcher. Bryan Thomas crushed a ball to the fence in left for a double to score Knoble and Beamer. Chase Kornerman (Delaware State) took the loss for Rockville despite allowing only one Big Train hit and an unearned run through five before giving up the doubles to Knoble and Beamer in the sixth.
