The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts scored a run in each of the last three innings to come from behind in a 3-1 victory over the Bethesda Big Train on Fathers Day at Povich Field.

Both starting pitchers were outstanding. The Big Train got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the sixth against T'Bolt starter Jimmy Drury (Catholic). Dan Terpak (Florida Atlantic) singled, advanced to second on a sacrifice, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an RBI sacrifice fly by Drew Carson (Southern Mississippi). In the top of the seventh, the T-Bolts finally got to Bethesda starter Ron Lowe (St. Leo). Justin McClanahan (NW Shoals CC) got his third single and later scored to tie the game on a swinging bunt that the Big Train third baseman couldn't handle.

Chris Eberhart (Florida Atlantic) relieved Lowe in the eighth and walked the lead-off batter John Stallings (UNC Charlotte). Stallings advanced on a sacrifice and scored on an RBI single by Matt Capece (Bucknell). The T'Bolts picked up an insurance run in the top of the ninth.

Big Train Notes: To celebrate Fathers Day, scores of Dads and Sons and Daughters played catch in the outfield before the game. It was quite a sight! Twenty-five young fans received Westie the kangaroo dolls from our game night sponsor Westfield Shoppingtown Montgomery. Westie joined Homer for the pre-game ceremonies. SportsTalk 980 provided Turkey Hill Ice Cream.
