The Bethesda Big Train hung a ten spot on the scoreboard in the fourth inning Thursday night and cruised to a 15-3 victory over the Rockville Express in front of 519 fans. Bethesda took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as Drew Carson (Southern Mississippi) and Bryan Thomas (Virginia Tech) launched balls to the scoreboard. Rockville got one back in the top of the third on a solo home run by RJ Brown (UC-Irvine). Bethesda extended its lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third on consecutive singles by Greg Lemon (Salisbury), Rhett Teller (St. Leo), and Carson. Then the wheels fell off for Rockville as three Express errors and 6 Big Train hits plated 10 Bethesda runners in the bottom of the fourth. A run in the ninth completed the Big Train scoring. Rockville scored twice in the top of the ninth, but it was too little, too late. Big Train starting pitcher Kenny Moreland (Christopher Newport) picked up his second win of the young season, allowing just one run on three hits.
