Seth Overbey (Maryland), fresh off a start in the CRSCBL All Star Game, blanked the Bethesda Big Train, 3-0, in game one of a doubleheader at Povich Field in Bethesda on Wednesday night. Jeff Germano had all three RBI for the Bombers. Jonnie Knoble (San Francisco) and Greg Lemon (Salisbury) each had two hits for Bethesda.

The Big Train charged back in the second game, 9-3, as Jonnie Knoble (San Francisco) went four-for-five with a double, three runs scored, and two RBI. Knoble's daring deeds on the base paths helped break the game open in the fourth and sixth innings. All Star Game co-MVP Greg Lemon (Salisbury) added two hits and three RBI. Bryan Thomas (Virginia Tech) was 3-for 5 with an RBI triple. Big Train starting pitcher Derek Caldwell (Rider) went eight innings allowing just four hits and no earned runs.
