Big Train Rout Express
On Wednesday night in a total team effort offensively and defensively the Big Train routed the Rockville Express, 17-6.

Five of the first six hitters in the Big Train line-up posted multi-hit games, with Jon Karcich (Santa Clara) and Clay Whittemore (Jacksonville State) collecting four hits each. Karcich homered and knocked in four runs. Whittemore doubled and knocked in three. Bert Smith (Jacksonville State) was just a home run shy of hitting for the cycle for Bethesda. In total the Big Train had 17 hits and bunched their scoring over four innings with the biggest offensive output coming in the sixth when they put an 8 spot on the board. Karcich's grand slam came in the top of the ninth and capped the offensive explosion for the Big Train.

For Rockville Steve Domecus (UC-Santa Barbara) hit his third home run in two days for the Express and Glenn Kiture (Flagler) added a solo shot for Rockville.

On the pitching side Brett Smalley (Middle Tennessee State) was effective in relief going 3 1/3 innings allowing only one hit and one run.
