BETHESDA BIG TRAIN ANNOUNCES PRELIMINARY 2004 SCHEDULE
2004 SEASON PASSES ON SALE NOW

The Bethesda Big Train has announced its preliminary summer 2004 schedule of 47 games. The schedule includes 42 official league games in the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League. The league opener against the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts will be played on Friday, June 4 at Shirley Povich Field with the first pitch at 7:30 p.m. The schedule also includes four pre-season exhibition games and two exhibition games during the season. This year's Community Night will be on Wednesday June 2 when the Big Train will take on the Maryland Orioles, the 2003 champions of the All-American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA). As in the past, the Community Night game will be free to all fans. The defending AAABA champion Orioles will return to Povich Field on Saturday July 10. The top two teams in the Griffith League will battle for the league championship in a best three-of-five series August 2-6.

John Maine, CJ Jimerson, Bobby Livingston, and Pat Boran -- these are four of Major League Baseball's top prospects. If you missed the Big Train in 1999, 2000, and 2001, you missed seeing these future major leaguers. Don't miss the Big Train action at Shirley Povich Field this summer. Manager Derek Hacopian is working hard to recruit a championship team. Season passes for 2004 are available now. Family season passes to all 26 Big Train home games at Povich Field cost $100. Corporate season passes (admission for 4 at each home game) cost $100. Individual passes cost $50. Your purchase of a season pass helps us be able to spend $50,000 each year to improve youth baseball and softball fields. Please make your check payable to "Bethesda Community Base Ball Club" and mail it to: BCBBC, P. O. Box 30306, Bethesda, MD 20824-0306.
