Five of the 2004 Big Train players have yet to arrive as they are playing in NCAA regionals that began on Friday June 4. All three teams lost on Friday and face elimination on Saturday. Catcher Mike McKenry was 0 for 1 in Middle Tennessee State's 16-2 loss to Georgia in the Athens, GA regional. Mike McBryde was 1 for 3 as Florida Atlantic lost 6-5 to NC State in the Coral Gables, FL regional. Justin Martin did not play. Texas Tech defeated Mississippi State 10-6 in the Atlanta, GA regional. Big Train players Brian LaNinfa and Ben Grisham did not play.

Note: Danny Gil, Miami's closer, has notified Big Train manager Derek Hacopian that he will not be coming to Bethesda this summer because of a sore arm. Miami won its first round game Friday night.
