Michael McKenry (BT 2004) of Middle Tennessee State University and Luke Hopkins (BT 2004) of New Mexico State University have both been named pre-season finalists for the 2006 Brooks Wallace Award, presented annually to the nation's top college baseball player.

McKenry and Hopkins played together briefly for the Big Train in 2004 before an injury ended Hopkins' summer early. McKenry finished with a team-high six home runs for Bethesda in 2004.
