Brian Fitzgerald joined the Big Train staff as the pitching coach in 2004 after playing in the major leagues for the Seattle Mariners during the 2002 season. A left-handed pitcher drafted in the 20th round by the Seattle Mariners in 1996, Brian played seven years in the minor leagues for the Mariners before joining the big league roster. He was also on the 40-man roster of the Colorado Rockies. Brian is a graduate of Virginia Tech University where he set school records for most wins, most starts, most strikeouts, and most innings. A graduate of Potomac High School, he played in the Clark Griffith League in 1993 and 1994. Brian, a special education teacher and baseball coach at Potomac High School, lives in Montclair, Virginia with his wife Amber and 2-year-old son Gavin.
