Date: Friday June 17, 2016
Time: 12:00 PM

Join Cuban Ambassador Cabanas for a Picnic on Tribute to Cuban Baseball Night on Friday June 17; Music by Blanco & Negro

The Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League is sending a team to Cuba August 2-6 to play three goodwill games in some of Cuba's iconic ballparks. Cuba's Ambassador to the United States Jose Cabanas will join former Congressman Mike Barnes and others at a 6:30pm picnic before the Friday June 17 Big Train game.

Tim Wendel, author of Castro's Curveball and Habana Libra, will give a talk about Cuban baseball. Music by Blanco & Negro during the picnic and at the game. Come out and learn about baseball in a country where the fans may love the game even more than we do here in America.

Email Grace Nicoll at gracenicoll1@gmail.com to reserve your seat at the 6:30 pm picnic: $18/adults and $12/kids. Game tickets are free for all who buy a picnic courtesy of the Fund for Montgomery.

If you are interested in traveling to Cuba with the Ripken League team and coaches Brady Anderson and B.J. Surhoff on August 2-6 please email Big Train Founder Bruce Adams at bruce@greaterwash.org for information.
