Bob O'Conor
Bench CoachRobert O'Conor joins the Big Train staff for his first summer. Coach O’Conor is currently the pitching coach for Montgomery College. He is in his 10th year with the Raptors. He has a vast background in coaching that spans over thirty years.
Before joining the Raptors staff Coach "O" was the Head Coach at Montgomery College - Rockville Campus prior to the combining of the sports program into a single "College-Wide" program under the Raptors mascot name. Previously, he coached at Damascus High School for 8 years during which his coaching record was 104 - 9. Coach "O" has coached many youth select teams from 8U through the American Legion level. His teams have won numerous championships and tournaments. He has also served as the Head Instructor and Camp Director for the Washington Nationals (MLB) Youth Summer Camps.
O’Conor is a Montgomery County native having graduated from Damascus High School in Damascus, Maryland. He continued his playing career at Montgomery College and then went onto attend The American University in Washington, DC. After serving in the United States Navy, O’Conor had a career in Law Enforcement and Security. He is currently a church administrator at Greenridge Baptist Church in Clarksburg, Maryland. He lives in Damascus with his wife Rebecca and has three adult sons, Brady, Patrick and Ryan.
