Big Train Visits the Capital

by Staff

The Bethesda Big Train will make a quick trip to the nation’s capital after their dominating win against the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts. Big Train will take on the D.C. Grays, the first seed vs the second in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.

The two teams have gone head-to-head five times so far in the 2019 season. Bethesda has taken three of those five wins, two of them being on D.C.’s home turf. Big Train has outscored the Grays 37-25 in total, though the first two matchups were only within one run. Big Train's Jacob Southern (Jacksonville) continues to pace the Cal Ripken League in homers (7) and RBIs (28).

The Big Train looks to extend their away record against the Grays, gearing up for the all-star game Wednesday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy. Can’t travel along with the Big Train? No need to worry! Play-by-play coverage will be broadcast by Alex Drain and Shaun Selhi; tune in here.
