I am Jordan Parham, a Sports Media & Analytics major at Virginia Tech. I was raised in Woodbridge, VA, and attended C.D. Hylton High School.
Since sixth grade, I've been hooked on film editing, all thanks to my first project in TV Production class—""How to Shoot a Hockey Puck."" It was a proud moment for my mom, who used to work at a TV station herself. Editing became my passion; I practiced tirelessly, starting with my friend's Call of Duty clips when I didn't have a camera. YouTube tutorials were my go-to for learning the basics.
Middle school was about immersing myself in TV Production courses, and I carried that passion to C.D Hylton High School. However, during my junior year of high school, I started leaning towards STEM, eventually landing in a physics program at Virginia Tech. However, my heart still longed for production.
I found my way back to my true passion through sports journalism. Virginia Tech's Sports Media and Analytics program seemed tailor-made for me. My dream now? Becoming a sports broadcaster, just like Stephen A. Smith, brings insightful analysis and statistics to viewers.
I know I'll make it happen through hard work and determination, leaving my mark in the sports industry.
