Big Train’s 2025 Game Night Entertainment Schedule Is Here – A Summer Full of Fun!
Get ready for a season packed with baseball, community spirit, and unforgettable entertainment! The Bethesda Big Train has unveiled its full 2025 Entertainment Schedule, and fans of all ages are in for a treat. With themed nights, three bobblehead giveaways, pre-game concerts, community heroes, and more, there’s something for everyone at Shirley Povich Field.
Opening Weekend Kickoff *$10 Ticket Special for May 30 and May 31
We start the fun Friday, May 30 with an exhibition game against the Southern Maryland Senators. Enjoy the start of Chalk Fest, where the first 100 kids (12 & under) receive chalk boxes, and pick up your 2025 Big Train schedule magnet courtesy of Lafayette Federal Credit Union.
The excitement continues Saturday, May 31 with another Chalk Fest day during our exhibition matchup against the Gaithersburg Giants.
Opening Night – Wednesday, June 4
Join us as we officially open the season against the DC Grays! Fans will receive a schedule magnet and a special Raquel Ordonez hand fan in honor of our Director of Operations. Celebrate with a flag-raising ceremony by American Legion Post 86, National anthem performance by the Wood Acres Elementary Chorus, and a hot dog fundraiser benefiting Nourishing Bethesda.

We’re bringing baseball brunch-style with 10 a.m. Sunday games!
June 8: Homer’s Birthday Bash with cake pops and chalk for the first 100 kids, fun activities with KID Museum, and Kids Run the Bases.
June 15 (Father’s Day): Homer plushies and chalk for the first 100 kids, Strathmore Children’s Chorus, and postgame catch with Dad!
July 6 (Grandparents Day): Mini squeeze bat and chalk giveaway presented by PromoWorld of Silver Spring.
July 13 (RBBA Day): Train Whistle or Homer Gibit for the first 200 kids. Stay for the Celebrity Softball Game at 1:30 p.m.!
Theme Nights & Live Entertainment
June 12 – Decades Night: Dress as your favorite decade! Big Train seat cushions for the first 100 fans 55+. Wizards Night. First Peach pitch from Mitch Berliner.
June 13 – Dino Night: Come in costume for a roaring good time. Pre-game concert by Capital Classics Quartet.
June 14 – Fan Fest (5–7 p.m.): Experience an unforgettable evening at our First Annual Bethesda Big Train College Baseball Fan Fest! Show your team spirit, connect with fellow fans, and dive into an evening packed with baseball excitement and family- friendly fun. Join us in celebrating our passion for college summer baseball! Family photo ops and ballpark memories.
June 18 – School’s Out Night: Celebrate summer with bookmarks, live plein air art painting, and a book talk with Homestand author Will Bardenwerper.
June 21 – Pride Night: Hand fans for the first 400 fans, and Racing Presidents Teddy and Abe from the Washington Nationals.
June 25 – BCC Baseball & Washington Capitals Night
June 22 – Jewish Baseball Heritage Night: Special guests Shlomo Lipetz and Barry Weinberg, with Senator Ben Cardin honored as a Community Hero.
June 28 – Sister Cities Night: Performances by Hung Ci Dragon-Lion Dance Troupe and Montgomery County Little League celebration.
June 29 – Special Olympics Tribute: Featuring Olympic gold medalist Thea LaFond.

June 19 – Juneteenth Classic: Celebrate Black baseball history at the Clarence “Pint” Israel Juneteenth Classic, with bobbleheads for the first 500 fans, live music by Scotland AME Zion Choir, and postgame fireworks sponsored by the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival.
June 22 – Jewish Baseball Heritage Night: Special guests Shlomo Lipetz and Barry Weinberg, with Senator Ben Cardin honored as a Community Hero.
July 10: University of Maryland nIght honoring Head Baseball Coach and Former Big Train player Matt Swope. First 500 fans receive a Matt Swope Bobblehead. Special Guests Johnny Holliday and Chancellor Brit Kirwan.
July 12 – Tribute to Latin Baseball: Spanish-language jerseys, mariachi band, Big Train baseball card set giveaway presented by Mid-Atlantic Collectibles, and autographs starting at 5:15 p.m.

July 5–7 – Player Family Weekend
July 5: Sal Colangelo Bobblehead for the first 500 fans. Honoring First Responders & Military, color guard, DC Defenders as special guests.
July 7: Orioles & Superhero Night, featuring a visit from The Orioles Bird.
July 9 – All-Star Game: Celebrate with ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian.
July 16 – National Hot Dog Day: Fundraiser for Manna Food Center. Wear your college gear!
July 17 – Down on the Farm Night: Honoring Montgomery’s agricultural roots with local baseball affiliates and a Community Hero tribute.
July 20 – Fan Appreciation Night: Games, music, and a celebration of the amazing fans who support Big Train all season long.

Roberto Clemente Community Service Day
On Saturday July 12, Big Train players will participate in our Fourth Annual Roberto Clemente Day, volunteering around Montgomery County. All volunteers receive a Clemente tribute jersey!
