Big Train to Host Braves for Hunter Renfroe Night

by Staff

The Big Train will return home Monday evening for the second match up against the FCA Braves. Coming off a five-game weekend, Bethesda pocketed three wins to push them further ahead in the Cal Ripken League. The Big Train will host the Braves for the second time at Shirley Povich Field.

The initial time the two met, Bethesda outscored the Braves 7-5. The two teams combined for eight total errors, with both teams cashing in on each others' miscues. Bethesda hopes to keep their home record against the Braves clean, protecting their turf. Excitement will be in the air at Shirley Povich stadium on Monday evening.

A Big Train alum, Hunter Renfroe of the San Diego Padres, will be in attendance as the team celebrates his legacy. Renfroe currently plays in the outfield for San Diego, batting .251 with a team-best 23 home runs. The alum is one of the select few to have their Big Train number retired for the team, with his number 11 hanging out in the outfield.

First pitch is set for 7 p.m., but plan to arrive early to score a sweet deal! Not only will Renfroe be in attendance and signing before the Big Train game, one-of-a-kind t-shirts will be handed out to fans on entry, while supplies last! Not able to make the game? Don’t fret! Play-by-play coverage will be broadcast by Alex Drain and Shaun Salehi, tune in here.
