Eat Catalyst Hot Dogs = Support Nourishing Bethesda

Opening Night Wednesday June 4 is going to be a blast at Povich Field starting with American Legion Post 86’s Flag Raising Ceremony, the National Anthem by the Wood Acres Elementary School Chorus, and a hand fan giveaway featuring our new director of Operations Raquel Ordonez. Schedule magnets, for sure. Our new beer provider Saints Row Brewing and our new ice cream provider Max’s Best Ice Cream will be in the house. And watch Chris from Catalyst fire up his t-shirt/hot dog launcher.

Most importantly, make sure you come ready to eat some hot dogs. Even here in Montgomery County, food insecurity is a serious problem and so twice this summer, we will be teaming up with Catalyst Hot Dogs and Roseda Beef to raise funds for groups that help feed our neighbors in need. First up will be Nourishing Bethesda on June 4 with Manna Food Center the beneficiary on National Hot Dog Day Wednesday July 16.

So here’s what you can do to help our neighbors in need: First, come to Opening Night hungry and eat some of those tasty Catalyst Hot Dogs; and second, pledge $1 or more to Nourishing Bethesda for each hot dog consumed by the crowd Wednesday night.

Nourishing Bethesda was founded in August 2020 in response to the pandemic to provide food on an emergency basis to people who live and work in our area. Today, Nourishing Bethesda reaches 7,000 individuals each month with more than 50,000 pounds of healthy food distributed at ten locations. In 2024, more than 700 volunteers contributed 34,000 hours to this vital work. We will miss you, but if you can't be at Povich Field on Wednesday June 4, you can still support Nourishing Bethesda:  Donate Here
