Nightly Entertainment is Back at Povich Field in 2022, Join In On the Fun!

Hello Big Train Family!

After a season strung together at the last possible moment, we are back in 2022 doing what Big Train Baseball does best: filling your summer up with affordable family fun! Click here to see the full calendar of events! And to buy tickets, please see our single game ticket page here.

We have a full calendar of entertainment that will make every Big Train home game at Shirley Povich Field an absolute blast for the whole family.

Our entertainment calendar includes the following fun and excitement:

The season kicks off with Family Fun Night on June 4, which includes face painting, corn hole games, and more!
Our season opener, on June 7 will feature our first of two visits from former Nats pitcher Gio Gonzalez and a t-shirt giveaway!
On June 12, we're holding our first Juneteenth Classic to celebrate Montgomery County's historic black sandlots and Clarence "Pint" Isreal, Rockville's star Negro Leaguer. Washington Parent Magazine has the Juneteenth Classic in its Top 20 family activities for the month of June!
Hall of Fame baseball writer Tim Kurkjian visits on June 14 and Washington Post youth columnist Fred Bown will be at our game on June 16!
June 19 features a second visit from Gio Gonzalez and kids will be able to play catch on the field before the game to celebrate Father's Day.
Big Train is proud to hold a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX with defending Ivy League women's basketball player of the year Abby Meyers on June 25!
On June 30, Big Train will celebrate Pride Night and welcome the Washington Mystics out to Povich Field!
Big Train also invite you to get creative on July 13 when we celebrate Halloween in July and July 15 when we celebrate Star Wars Night! Dress to impress!
Come out and enjoy four specialty beer nights with 7 Locks Brewing on June 11, June 18, July 2, and July 22!

This is just a sampling of what we have in store, but just know that whatever night you come out to Povich, you're guaranteed to see great baseball and have a ton of fun.

The Big Train is also excited to bring back our Picnics! The Davis Family Picnic Pavilion at Povich Field is the perfect place for a youth sports team to celebrate the end of a great season before a Big Train game. Or treat your friends to a ballgame at your birthday party. Or celebrate a family reunion, a company outing, a community celebration, or basically anything. You tell us the day, and we do all the work!

Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. provided by Gregorio’s Trattoria and Catalyst Hot Dogs. For just $22, each person receives a ticket for that night's game, dinner, and a drink. It's the perfect evening! For any youth sports team celebrating the end of their season, enjoy the added perk of the players getting to run out onto the field with their Big Train counterparts after having their name announced over the PA system. It's an amazing experience for kids and parents alike.
